I’ve been practicing yoga consistently since 2013. Before I started yoga, I was really into “fitness” and “eating healthy.” In retrospect, I wasn’t very healthy at all. I became very concerned with my physical appearance. I was obsessive about what I ate, felt guilty if I didn’t eat “perfectly” and felt empty inside after leaving the gym. I knew I wasn’t in a healthy state of mind, so I ditched the dieting and quit the gym. I still wanted to have some form of physical activity in my life, and when someone suggested yoga I was finally open-minded enough to give it a try. Soon after I started practicing yoga, I fell in LOVE with it. I no longer was obsessed with how my body looked, and instead, I became in touch with how my body FELT. My relationship with food improved so much. My relationship with my mind and the world around me improved even more. I thought yoga was just a form of exercise but I have gotten so much more than just physical benefits from it! I might not be the healthiest yogi (I eat meat, I have dessert as often as possible, I’m addicted to candy, I also get road rage) but holy cow I’ve come LIGHT YEARS from where I was before yoga came into my life! The best part is I am happy with who I am and I don’t want to change myself. Starting yoga is embarking on the adventure of a lifetime. I PROMISE you, the physical benefits are only the tip of the iceberg. I look forward to working with you and being a part of your journey.
